EVH 5150 III 1×12 50W 6L6 Combo In Ivory

The 5150 amp has defined rock and metal for years, and for 2018 EVH have expanded this established range with the new 5150 III 50W 6L6 amplifiers. With the pure, unbridled tone of dual 6L6 power tubes, these amps push some serious air with 50W of headroom and three versatile channels.

American Tones

The 5150 is renowned for giving you fat, saturated distorted sounds with a slightly scooped mid-range and incredible top-end presence. It’s therefore no surprise why the 5150 has been arguably the most used amplifier in metal for over 20 years, and this new offering continues to pioneer this cutting-edge sound. 

With 3 channels, you can attain a hugely versatile range of tones for many styles, not just exclusively metal. The clean channel is bright and vibrant, giving you pristine and clear tones that will cut through effortlessly in a full band mix. Channel 2 is where it starts to heat up, offering sweet crunch tones with the Gain control set low, all the way up to tight and focused distortion for rhythm playing.

The third channel delivers high-gain chaos, with more distortion on tap than you’d know what to do with! This channel is well-suited for leads, with a smoother and more compressed distortion that lends itself incredibly well to technical shredding or searing solos. All of these amazing tones are conveyed via a Celestion-designed 12″ speaker, ensuring optimal sound quality.

A 4-button footswitch is included, letting you switch between all three channels on-the-fly, as well as engage the amp’s built-in reverb.

Extra Features

If you prefer running your time-based and modulation pedals in the effects loop of your amplifiers to retain that powerful crunch, the built-in series effects loop will easily handle them.

Another great feature is the headphone output, letting you silently practice if you have attentive neighbours. The MIDI input is a further ergonomic addition, letting you switch channels with a MIDI device such as a pedal switcher.

Brimming with brawny tone, the EVH® 5150III® 50W 6L6 112 Combo is arena-sized sound in a Celestion® powered compact package for more convenient transport.

Redesigned with versatile, all-new independent dual- concentric controls that allow for gain and volume level matching, this 50-watt tube combo amp boasts three channels for any playing style—crisp cleans, raw crunch or searing leads.

Delivering a full-spectrum of tone, channel one features pristine cleans, channel two kicks in with overdrive and heavy gain similar to the EVH 5150III 100S, while channel three oozes with liquid distortion. Channels one and two each have dual concentric gain/volume controls, with shared EQ (low, mid, high). Channel three has its own gain, volume and EQ (low, mid, high) controls. All three channels also have global presence, resonance and reverb controls.

Loaded with a 12” custom special designed EVH Celestion speaker to enhance and refine both your sound and your style, this combo amp also has seven JJ ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes, two JJ 6L6 power tubes and front-panel adjustable power output from 50 watts down to one watt.

Other features include a single input, rear-panel selectable output impedance (4, 8 or 16 ohms) with a pair of parallel speaker outputs, rear-panel MIDI input and preamp output, rear-panel effects loop and headphone jack (mutes power amp), and a four-button footswitch that controls all three channels and reverb for easy onstage switching.

The cabinet is constructed out of birch with special internal baffling for tight and increased bass response. Wrapped in stylish Black or Ivory vinyl, this combo is finished off with vintage-style chicken-knobs, red LED jewel indicator, molded black plastic top handle and pop- out casters.
