American bassist Darryl Jones has toured and recorded with some of the biggest names in music, including Sting, Madonna, Eric Clapton and most recently, the Rolling Stones. Jones became a full time touring member of the Rolling Stones in 1993 following Bill Wyman’s retirement, and he has performed with them ever since.
The Vemuram DJ1 is a collaboration between Darryl Jones and Tokyo-based guitar pedal manufacturer Vemuram, a company who specialise in producing exclusive, boutique effects for players who are serious about their tone. The idea behind the DJ1 was to create an overdrive/distortion pedal that could be used in a number of different situations with maximum headroom. The DJ1 was designed specifically, but not exclusively for bass players, meaning guitarists can take advantage of it’s wide range of tones too.
The DJ1 is capable of dialling in anything from a subtle crunch to an over-the-top, gut busting distortion, making it a pedalboard essential for studio and touring musicians alike.
