The Mira Optical Compressor is the latest offering from US boutique pedal gurus Walrus Audio. Boasting studio-grade optical compression, the Mira adds heaps of rich sustain and a smooth attack and release that can be blended in to taste. Consider it your new “always-on” pedal!
Offering in depth control over attack, release, ratio and threshold, the Mira is packed with controls you would typically only see on studio-style rack units. The addition of a Make-Up control helps maintain unity levels after your signal has been compressed. The Mira also features a high pass filter, accessible via a push/pull button, which is great for preventing bass frequencies 120Hz or below from engaging the compressor as much as higher frequencies.
Whether you prefer subtle compression for enhancing your clean, arpeggiated chords, or heavily compressed “squashed” tones for tight, rhythmic strumming, the Mira has your back! Even at low settings, the Mira’s warm, analogue optical compression will ensure your tone is rich and full of clarity. Once you’ve stepped on Mira, you may not want to turn it off!
